Shanghai Trip Part 5: Huangpu River Cruise

Aku nak sambung posting Shanghai (sebelum menanah mata tengok gambar Perth) ....aritu sibuk kan ...mula2 sibuk raya ...then sibuk students masuk and class starts ...then family matters ke sana ke sini ...then gi Kuantan (yang nie semua posting dah selesai) ...baru ada masa sambung balik posting Shanghai ....

Kali nie nak cerita tentang river cruise along Huangpu River ...aku before pi sana google kan tourist attractions ...org komen kat website kata kalau masa terhad better buat river cruise ....sekali  harung tengok view ....so, memang daha put on the list of place to visit lah ......aku pi on the day before balik malaysia ....that whole day aku free ....so awal lah bertolak .....kalau tengok kat map, kata nya cruise nie kena gi kat ferry terminal ...along the Bund ...jgn tertipu ...jauh nak jalan tau! aku nasib baik tanya kat hotel ...satff kat sana kata jgn stop kat the Bund, stop terus kat depan ticketing office ....aku ambik taxi from hotel direct ke sana lah ......senang sket ...

cari ajer direction to Shiliupu Ferry Terminal ....kalau jalan kaki kat the Bund, gi sampai the very end! opposite direction from Hero's Monument...taxi driver aku pun tak tau tempat nie ....aku yang kena tunjuk jalan kat dia ...boleh????

i have no idea apa papan tanda nie is all about ...but ianya banyak dekat2 kawasan ticketing office kat ferry terminal ...

sampai2 kat ferry terminal, tempat tu cam kosong ,.....it is a brand new complex ...tak banyak kawasan yang dah buka ...i asked the staffs kat situ, takde sapa cakap english .....aku menonong jer jalan, and so happen terjumpa counter tiket ....paid for mine, and was told the next ferry was in 10 minutes ....menunggu le kejap .....ramai org Hong Kong tunggu the same cruise as mine ...muka ngades semua LOL ....

Harga tiket 100 yuan ...kira RM45 for a trip yang memakan masa 45 min to 1 hour

masa kat cruise nie aku geng ngan this guy from Hungary and another one from Italy ...yang lain semua Chinese nationals and ada geng masing2 ...kami bertiga ajer yang sorang2 ...so we stick together hehehehe

pakcik nie kerja kat town about 2 hours from Shanghai ....

most of the passengers opt to stay kat dalam boat ...kat bahagian bawah ...ada aircond tapi view kureng ....kat situ ada org serve drinks and foods jugak ...aku pi ke kabin atas ...and went to the area outside ...cuaca agak panas ..so, i stayed kat area yang teduh sket .....kalau nak kat kawasan VIP i.e. comfy sofa with aircond and served with drinks, kena add extra 50 yuan ...malas akak ....so i went on to the free area LOL ...

Views yang dilihat sama macam if you are walking round the Bund ...cuma banyak yang close up ....it was ok kalau you are rushing and nak tengok byk tempat along the river ...

yang nie ferry penumpang biasa ...bukan tour punya ferry ....

and old barge ....aku rasa ada famili tinggal kat dalam barge nie sebab nampak ada kanak2 kat dalam nya

gambar banyak lagi tapi malas nak tepek kat sini ...kang berjela2 panjang nya ......anyway, pas abis cruise nie, aku gi naik on-off bus ...ronda2 Shanghai on bus pulak .......siap pi Jiang An temple ....etc ...yang tu nanti aku sambung ....gambar belum resize lagi ....

Shanghai Trip Part 4: Yummy Chicken and deep fried spinach

Salah satu daripada makanan yang memorable untuk aku masa trip Shanghai aritu ...very well presented ...and sedap pulak tu! Aku tak tau apa nak dimakan ...masalh komunikasi sungguh masa kat sana coz aku tak boleh cakap/baca mandarin ....diorang plak sukar nak cakap English - unless kat hotel etc etc ...this was one lucky choice for me LOL

and masa dia kata ada spinach (susah aku nak tangkap apa yang dia maksudkan masa aku nak order benda nie) aku ingat side dish ...rupanya more kepada presentation value ...tapi sedap and ranggup dimakan!

aku pulak alang alang dah dapat waiter yang boleh cakap English, maka terus lah order dessert ...rambang mata ...last2 aku pilih sago with mango and pamelo flavours ...sedap meletops bak kata Fendu LOL ...

the sago was creamy ...but bukan memualkan ...and dalam tu ada pieces of mango and pamelo ...the taste tu very nicely balance ...sourish, manis ...and lemak berkrim ...sedap, mantap, meletops you all!!

aku buat posting pun  dah terliur, padahal today makan banyak ...hehehehe ....

Shanghai trip Part 3: The Bund

heloooooo ....ingat tak yang aku gi Shanghai masa puasa aritu ...and so far ada a few je posing about that trip ...well, aku gagahkan diri hari nie utk buat posting tu ...hehehehe today akak happy coz pagi tadi gi pampering ...gi salon ngan my mum ...mum gi potong and colour rambut, akak plak gi wash, massage and buat hair treatment and steaming ,,,heaven gitu ...kepala rasa ringan, nak buat posting pun senang ati LOL

back to cerita Shanghai ...i went to the Bund on my second day kat sana ...plan nak gi awal2 supaya tak panas tapi ujan mencurah curah ...malas nak berkurung kat bilik, aku tanya kat org hotel mana mall yang paling dekat ...they said Wanda Centre paling dekat ...dalam 15 yuan gitu ...so, they lent me an umbrella, and hailed a taxi for me ..maka aku gi le sana ....aku tengok biasa2 ajer ...pas sejam kat situ, saw the rain dah berhenti ...aku hailed another taxi untuk ke the Bund ...berlaku lah masalah komunikasi ...aku kata nak gi the Bund, taxi driver tak tau ...then pas dua tiga kali explain pun dia tak faham, aku bukak pintu taxi and ask org2 yang queue for taxi outside to translate for me ...baru driver faham .....rupanya it is also known as Zhongshan Road ....tip: always ask the hotel people to write the name of the places you want to visit on a piece of paper ...senang nak berkomunikasi ....

the Bund nie memang famous ....a must see place kalau visit Shanghai ...it is a very long waterfront ...esplanade ...sesuai untuk jalan2 ...tak kira siang or malam ....both offers magnificient views! Th Bund nie located kat downtown Shanghai ..very modern, high rise buildings kat sebelah Pudong ....with Pearl Oriental Tower, financial district etc ...sangat mengagumkan ....

Esplanade nya agak panjang ...jenuh nak jalan front ine end to another ...org pun cam ulat taik - bak kata fendi - sebab too crowded ...with locals, with tourists ...yang berkumpulan, yang sorang2 cam aku ...yang bercouple couple ....susah nak ambik gambar...too many people sampai ada tempat yang macam nak berlaga vontot ....

 see ...too many people!

tapi biler kat tempat2 yang jauh, dah kurang orang ...@People's Heroes Monument

tapi aku kan excited lebih ..so jalan till the end ...sampai People's Hero Monument ...pastu masa nak patah balik tu cam tercunggap2 ...letih .....tapi banyak tempat untuk duduk berehat ..and the view was worth it!

Shanghai Trip Part 2: Yuyuan Garden

Yuyuan Garden (also called Yu Garden) is another top attraction in Shanghai ...It is a classical Chinese garden located at the very heart of the city, built over 400 years ago ....tapi dah restored numerous times ....I read a couple of guide books and all of it stated that Yu Garden is one of the must see place while visiting Shanghai ...so, i took the chance to visit the area after the conference concluded on the second day ....

My first impression when the taxi driver said that we have arrived at the area was WOW!!!! the view was different ....traditional elements all round ....the design, the architecture and the motifs .....

i was a bit lost trying to find the entrance to the garden ...the signage was not properly visible ...and the people do not seemed to understand me (and i dont speak mandarin or any chinese dialects) ....what i did was, bak kata ita, go with the flow :-)

the entrance was somewhere behind this building (which is a restaurant) ..i just followed the people who seemed to be going in that direction

the entrance fee to the garden, which was built during the Ming Dynasty, was 30 yuan (or approximately RM15) ...but during the peak season the fee is 40 yuan ...another thing to note is that the last ticket purchase is at 5.00 pm ....and because of the large area, allocated at least 30 mins for exploring the garden ...

this garden has a lot of interesting features - rockeries, ponds, buildings ....all in all, a calm, tranquil environment ....the outside of the garden was hectic ...too many people, and the noise level is just too much ..but once I entered the garden ...peace and quiet greets you! seriously ...i love wandering around here ...and i am sure my parents would have love it here ....

and one of the feature of this garden that i remembered vividly is the Dragon wall ....its undulating dragon along the wall ....i did not notice it at first until one of the guides whom I met started to explain why the section is called the Dragon Wall ...doh'

 All in all, a great walkabout in the garden ...lots of photos were taken here but too many to show :-) I'll posted those photos in my FB ...just outside this garden are rows upon rows of shops selling various souvenious ...Old Shanghai Road (Fan Bang Road) is also located not far from the garden ...all within walking distance ...but the key idea is BARGAIN ....you would seriously need to bargain for any items that you want ...most shops do not display any price tag ...everthing can be bargained ...all you need is a bargaining skill (which I seriously lacked!)

Shanghai Trip Part 1: Crowne Plaza Hotel, Fudan

Finally ada mood nak buat posting ....ari tu masa balik kampung aku nak buat tapi (i) aku lupa bawak broadband ...then (ii) battery laptop kong, and takleh nak charge coz tak bawak charger ...LOL sebab excited nak balik cuti, lupa segala benda ....

first of all, kiter buat posting pasal hotel ...since conference yang aku attend tu kat Crowne Plaza, maka aku choose to stay there jugak ...utk senang ....booking wise very easy, aku call ...then made my reservation ...and follow up semua done via emails .....tapi ingat, byk crowne plaza kat Shanghai nie ....yang aku stay nie is in Fudan area ....betul2 depan Fudan University ....area residential ....not busy but nice area to stay ....but agak jauh from downtown ...kalau naik taxi dalam 30 mins gitu or dalam 30 - 40 yuan (RM15-20) ....

The room was nice ...large and comfy ....mine standard king size room ajer ....nak cari the cheapest hahahahaha ...nie ajer yang aku dapat for entitlement ...dalam RM480 a night including breakfast ...seperti biasa, masuk bilik terus ambik gambar (sebelum aku sepahkan barang2 aku) ...

a large and comfy bed ....my bed for my 5-nights stay ....kira my new best friend hahahaha

this is the working space .....tapi internet at this hotel agak slow .....aku gunakan first day ajer...then I gave up ...

and most importantly, the bathroom was clean .....itu yang penting ....

like i said before, kawasan nie student and residential area...aman damai gitu ...just round the corner from the hotel ada satu lorong yang penuh ngan kedai ...it's called uni life center ..and guess what, ada satu kedai makan halal kat situ ...i am so blessed to have found it on my first day kat sana ...other shops like family marts (ala2 7-Eleven) pun bersepah kat situ .......

but still bab makan aku haru sket that first day ...aku dah beli food before jumpa that halal cafe ....so malam first aku dok makan salad and sweet bun ajer ...LOL makanan kambing!

tu jer for this posting ...nanti buat lagi ....bapak aku ajak kuar jap ...since dia tak sihat and tak di benarkan drive oleh doc for these two weeks, aku and adik aku lah pemandu peribadi dia ....now giliran aku ....chow chin chow ...

belum sempat buat posting Shanghai

Salam semua ....akak nak bagitau yang akak belum ada masa nak buat posting trip Shanghai yang lepas ...banyak nar kerja2 menanti di opis..padahal seminggu jer tak masuk opis ....pastu plak, balik from Shanghai terus tak sihat ..bak kata Fendi, aku dok bawak virus apatah from sana ...sampai sini batuk and since 2 days ago takde suara ....today baru ok sket ...tapi mak aiii suara ter-over seksi tau ....

tapi just to share my sinopsis trip ari tu (kira teaser jer lah dulu)

First day - bertolak awal pagi from kuching sampai sana kol 2 petang ....sampai hotel, jalan2 kejap jer dekat2 area tu ....
Second day - pi Wanda Shopping Mall (tak best sangat) and then gi the Bund ....balik hotel by 3.30 untuk registration for conference
Third day - conference the whole day - aku present plak tu
Fourth day - conference the whole day - then gi jalan2 Yuyuan Garden and souveniour hunting kat Old Shanghai Road (FangBan Road)
Fifth Day - all out jalan2 - gi River Cruise, gi Nanjing Road, gi Jiang'An Temple ...
Sixth day - balik .....terus demam!
