Final day of Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum...this is not planned but the last time I made a posting here was June 6th and today is August 6th--like seriously??? 2 months--I dont believe it myself....ingat once a month tu dah teruk sgt tapi kaedah nya ni dah 2 bulan...i can feel that I am losing the skill already...mcm lah dulu best sgt kan posting kite ha..ha...ha.. sabar lah senah! Ni entah apa dok keluar message "error on page"...kalau after typing all this and I am not able to upload mmg i just want tos ay bye to blogging :( Now I am scratching my head thinking what to write...told you I am losing the kepochi skill....oh idea come to momma! We are down to last day of Ramadan...there is no point in wishing selamat berpuasa right?--way too late lah Liz...

My ramadan was not a smooth one this year...i had gastric and diarrhoea for almost 1 week..it was bad i told u --at first it was pain in the chest..then the vomitting- right after iftar..then diarrhoea..flat habis..but thinking that sakit is god's way to cleanse dosa dosa kecil...i quietly welcome it with an open heart and thank HIM...apa lah sgt angin2 ni when an ex class mate was recently diagnosed with cancer stage 3 with 2 years estimation.Heart breaking...he and wife are scheduled for haj this year and he willingly postponing his chemotheraphy for the pilgrimage...Now where do we stand against that kind of soul? I feel ashamed. I would be one of those who would jump from my seat for the chemo...so damn ashamed!

We have an exceptional blessing during this Ramadan when Duan was offered Ayamas contract farming-- we tot the offer is the best available because the entrance capital is not as high as if we need to build up a reban and so on..we are renting 8 rebans altogether and hopefully it come out a success. It was not an easy process in getting the contract--after a few visits, a few presentation , a few meetings for the last 6 months....alhamdulillah. Having invested in Slake & Bite--we are down to our last penny actually--Ita is offering me RM50K but I am yet to get :)he..he... but heyyy...as the famous quotes says

It is god's will...he's out from the organisation to stand on his own..--at first we did feel cheated and all that--angry but i passed that in just a day or two--rezeki di tangan tuhan--we should really thank them kan? ..and according to this November is the nicest..April is the sweetest walau misai melintang so...we can still smile if we bump into the whole lot... and insyallah sunah Rasullullah "99% rezeki itu dalam perniagaan" we are not there yet...but I believe we are on the right path...and the surrounding, insyallah will bring us nearer to HIM...amin amin ya rabullalamin. I am still with Grace though....told you i love my job tinggal busy sgt tu yg sakit kepala..jiwa dan raga he..he..i have to keep my payroll just in case :) We are still looking for capital actually....kalau ada yg sudi call lah akak :)

Panjang dah ni...bulan Ramadan ni not like prior year --i was so damn lazy to cook...perhaps sebab hubby is not around tapi dulu pun dia selalu kat Pekan...I lost my appetite to an extent itu yg tak de selera nak masak memasak...I only cooked once with Angah's helping..other days, bibik does all the cooking for iftar and sahur..I am thankful for my bibik... Weekends mostly tapau. Because Duan is away during the week, I turned down all the corporate iftar...I cant bring myself to eat in the hotels with friends thinking my boys are left at home just the 3 of them...tak sampai hati...very mak mak kan...of course lah I am a mother!!!

We did iftar at Zenith once--RM90 for adult...say loh...crazy right? and kids are RM65 per pax...hotel prices are exxagerating kan? too much...but we got a good deal for being a regular there but still not cheap...sekali oklah...kalau 2-3 kali ifatr rabak! Thank god they also serve oysters so i had a good slurp...burpppp..and tehy were so freash...yummy...afi lari tak leh tahan bau oyster...only aimran take the interest after me.

Oklah ....tomorrow we are going back to Pekan...and after sembahyang raya on Raya day we will make our move down to JDT --

jangan marah...akak budak johor okays!

Just in case I will take another 2 months gap to make another posting...saya mengambil kesempatan ini utk mengucapkan ....haiyo macam baca skript kat RTM 1..:)...I want to wish everybody Selamat Hari Raya Aidil fitri...dan Maaf Zahir Batin atas segala kesilapan yang tidak saya sedari...kalau sedar2 insyallah tak de lah niat nak menyakiti hati sesama insan ni...Enjoy the spirit of hari raya...bermaafan itu mmg dituntut dalam Islam....I have read before that memaafkan dan memohon maaf itu will bring more bnefits to our ownselves than to others....jiwa lebih tenang...also enjoy the food--tapi jgn makan tak hingat dunia...pinggang baru nampak sikit sehari dah tenggelam semula kang....I am so looking forward for the family gathering..it has been a while...Safe Journey all....Ejin dont isolate yourself in the office--join fellow malaysians and look for Satay ha..ha..ha...again Salam Aidil fitri

Cherish with Cherries

I know it is syawal oledi tapi nak kena jugak update this one last berbuka for Ramadhan 2012.
This was the last 2-3 days of Ramadhan...my youngest adik ipar came back from Perlis, my MIL called and informed that they want to have berbuka at my teratak....so the whole lot came and we had iftar together---no picture of us sebab semua tak bertudung lah .
It was a working day, so I bought the food and some otehrs are belanja-ed by my adik ipar...emmacam pulak dibawanya...and once again melempah ruah food nya...

Yang jadi nak cite sangat this makan makan is because the pencuci mulut for the day was cherries...all the way from KL...Duan came back from KL on that day and brought home the cherries.

Rememeber fendi's new nickname ...the Saint...and this is the reason why i called him that..I told him lama tak makan cherries and he told me he have those so often because it is sold in Jusco which is nearby to his residence.dan dengan baik hati nya my the saint friend, knowing that Duan was in town...he took the effort to buy 2-3 packets and passed them to Duan....tak ke mulia hati tu...

Mana lah nak dapat kawan macam tu :).................agak agak berapa duit raya nak bagi aku :)

So makanlah kita sampai cirit the next day ha..ha..ha...mmg meletops!

Last day of RAmadan

Last day of Ramadan...started with a quick sahur,,angah and Duan only had a drink...punya lah...so tehre were only me and afi and adib slowly swallowing our toast..nasi tak boleh masuk oledi..in fact we have not had any rice for sahur for the past 2 weeks or so.

Pagi...went to the mall..had my hair ironed...saja suka suka...

The boys and Duan had their hair cut...more like a trim actually...I went to the salon next door to the one Duan went to, to save time...not many hairdresser working semua pun balik kampung.

Right after the salon trip , we shot off for Pekan...kososng dah Kuantan ...traffic was clear...for the past 2 weeks...machet pak!

Sampai Pekan..another round of KAbhi Kushi Kabhi Gam ..one of my favourite hindustan...I can just watch this movie over and over again...Dan setiap kali tu lah nangis jugek...just like Devdas..tersentuh noh hati

You guys must be thinking that I was actually "curi tulang"...to certain extend ya kot but there is nothing much to do actually...even like now while doing this..by right , people are busy cookinha nd what not...but here we pre ordered everything..the only home cooked I think is only rendang...so boleh lah semua melurus kan kaki.depan tv..bertuah punya menantu kan ?

Another norm to this kampung is mercun merdeka...keles...last time kita ada jugak supplier ...these days bunga api pun dah tak jumpa..tahun ni betul2 zero tak jumpe langsung

I am taking so long to do this posting...internet mcm siput semput nya...geramnya..

So sempena hari yg mulia ni..inginlah saya mengambil kesempatan ini mengucap kan salam aidil fitri untuk semua terutamanya my beloved buddies here Fendu...the saint...new nickname for Fend...Ejin whom I think would benefit from this puasa season to get in her skinny jeans...and miss coo..kak Ita kita lah...Maaf Zahir Batin, atas segala salah dan silap yang tentunya datang dari kekurangan diri saya sendiri....

penangan biskut raya

sebab dah dekat sangat nak raya kan, banyak le gambar2 biskut raya home made yang muncul kat FB my friends ...and semua nya menggoda jiwa ok ...I love biskut raya tapi I tak suka buat biskut raya ...leceh coz banyak kerja if banding ngan buat kek ...masa sekolah dulu rajin aku tolong my mum buat ...mula2 tu aku jadi helper ajer ..i.e. shapekan biskut, butterkan loyang etc ...then baru upgrade jadi assistant, tolong buat adunan, and mak aku bakarkan .....last2 dah pro baru diberi kepercayaan buat semua sendiri ..my parents just beli bahan2 ajer ...dulu2 memang takde biskut tunjuk2, semua buat sendiri .....sure korang ingat aku tak pandai buat biskut kan? kan? kan? bukan tak pandai, tapi malas telah menguasai diri ...so la nie aku selalu makan biskut tunjuk tunjuk ajer ....nak dijadikan cerita, masa mula2 kerja kat sini, one of this akak opis introduce aku ngan this guy (technician fakulti lain) yang selalu ambik tempahan kuih raya ...aku terus order ngan dia ...memang pastu, tiap2 Ramadan this guy akan emel kan aku senarai kuih yang dia buat that year (berubah setiap tahun) and harga ...so, since 2 tahun lepas aku order through email ajer heheheh ...my fav yang tak pernah miss is tart nenas and biskut makmur ...this year pun sama. Esok mamat tu deliver to my opis :-)

my dad punya favourite ...masa kat KL aritu kan ada org dah start jual biskut2 raya, we bought tart nenas from Jusco 2-3 kali ...semua abis and tak sempat bawak balik ke sini :-) and he is already asking biler nak dapat tart nenas yang aku order nie :-)

then early this week Tijot plak tagkan aku kat gambar cookies yang dia buat ...choc cookies yang nampak sangat menarik ....aku nak beli, tapi dia tak jual hahahaha ...dia soh datang rumah kalau nak rasa :-)

and then my all time fav biskut ....semperit! My God, punya lah lama aku tak makan biskut nie ....my aunty dulu terrer buat biskut nie ...masa nak perayaan, my Aunty Stampin (dia dok Stampin), my mum and my Aunty Tupai (gelaran takleh blah from my dad yang melekat sampai sekarang) selalu akan buat gotong royong buat biskut nie ....aku tak pernak buat coz mak aku tak pernah buat ...bukan specialty mak aku ...and semalam aku browse FB my friends, nampak le gambar semperit in the making kat FB Sue ..aiyooo, terliur akak yang tengah puasa nie tau ...and aku tanya dia nak jual tak, hehehe - soalan biasa aku - sadly dia kata MIL dia yang buat, and not for sale ...cissss awat dorang nie semua tak nak jual kan?? kesian aku ....

Menu simple for iftar bagi yang tak rajin memasak

bukan minggu yang baru lepas nie yea ..tapi the week before that ...hahaha very not me kan ..tetiba rajin memasak ...mood tu datang sebab aku malas nak membeli kat PaRam ..after insiden aku kena asthma after membeli barang kat PaRam aritu, I skip terus PaRam ...i mean, it was not worth it coz, aku asthma lama ...then kena makan ubat banyak (which I really hate!) ...and then bukan setakat asthma, ada sekali tu aku cirit birit la pulak ...serik lah beli makanan yang buat kiter jadi penunggu setia jamban ....sebab tu terus tak mem-PaRam sampai ari nie .....if I am not mistaken, sepanjang puasa nie aku pi PaRam 3-4 kali ajer ...then sekali tu Jane pi belikan aku nasi kerabu yang sedap kat PaRam yang aku tak pernah pi ...and then last week Haslina tapaukan something for me from PaRam masa aku stuck kat opis buat coursefile .....wahhh panjang dan melalut mukadimah ...

 so, what did i cook? hehehe menu pelbagai dan menggunakan apa yang ada kat fridge ajer selalu nya...my fav dishes adalah something yang simple, tak yah ingredient banyak2 and cepat untuk dimasak :-)

(i) pineapple fried rice (Nasi goreng campur nenas)

masa tu banyak nenas kat rumah - aku kan balik kampung that week, and my cousin bagi banyak nenas kat kitorang ...apalagi, buat lah nasi goreng nenas ala-thai yang my dad suka ...mula2 nak buat pajeri tapi macam tak cukup ingredient kat rumah masa tu ...click at my other blog (here) for recipe :-)


(ii) braised chicken with pineapple and mushroom

the next day nya pula, continue menu nenas ...hahaha kan aku dah cakap nak utilise apa yang ada ...agar tak membazir ...tapikan, aku memang suka nenas, kalau dimasak or dicampur dalam masakan ...kalau makan gitu gitu ajer memang aku tak suka ....lebih kurang macam ingredient nasi goreng tapi the big different is kat nasi goreng tu i guna beef :-)


(iii) Salmon - oriental style

aku belajar buat macam nie from my friend, Li Qin, budak China yang share flat ngan aku kat Newcastle dulu ...simple sangat buat - nanti aku bagi resipi -  a different version kalau aku dah muak makan grilled salmon ala mat salleh ...and adik suka makan salmon macam nie (cuma aku minus the chillies for adik)


(iv) rendang daging

yang nie fav semua org kat rumah aku ....sebab it takes time to cook kan, selalu buat weekend ....

simple ajer kan ...well, selalu nya aku masak 1 dish ajer, my mum akan masak le sayur ke apa ke for dinner ...and supplement with kuih muih ...cukup and tak membazir ...and sihat dan bersih coz we cook it ourselves ...itu yang penting ....

see, banyak beza ngan ramadan2 lepas yang masa aku pengunjung setia PaRam ...semua sebab asthma dan tak sihat :-)

Sketsa Hari Raya

Tolak today and the hari raya itself, we have another 5 days aje utk raya and 5 hari jugak uth ramadhan tahun ini. Rasa sekejap aje kan..Fendi tanya dah siap persiapan raya...i tot i want to write on that tapi tadi tgk past hari raya pictures...i feel like writing about previous hari raya lah...

This was last year...2011...we wore brown --my baju kurung was cotton bought in Bandung--and that year was Aariz's first hari raya..he was so very small, kan? The routine as always, we celebrated malam raya in Pekan then move on to JB after sembahyang and visiting some relatives nearby to PIL's house.

It was only last year...tapi Afi aje nampak sangat beza nya kan? Bujang sgt dah dia tahun ni..>Adib pun was such a baby aje last year...Angah yg tak banyak difference kan? ..risau sgt dia tak besar besar...In fact yesterday when we went to get new songkok for Duan and him..org kedai tanya kembar ke dgn Adib and which is abang? Tension sgt Angah ha..ha..and  that was not the firts time..Oh gosh..I should get Adib to try his kain sampin...Angah lambat sgt nak hand-me-down to Adib itu masalah jugak...I think last year kot kena get new songkok for Adib sebab Angah can still fit his...Then early this year Adib pakai songkok Angah for KAFA itu yg Angah kena beli baru.

Food ni kira prelude for waht we are going to get this year....gembira kan? Yummyyyyyyyy....Nasi dagang, laksa pahang, nasi minyak, satay, ketupat, lemang,...sebut lagi apa nak...semua ada ...

Ni nak tunjuk belakang tu...the part yg sgt bercinta...packing..punya seligai benda bawak sampai tak nampak dah cermin belakang tu...Itu pun dah habis light lah tu punya packing...semalam Duan ajak kemas tapi malasnya lah....tapi today dah start kena pack lah...kalau tak ada yg tertinggal pula...payah... 

 Ni at my aunty ana's...I suka macam ni...lepak lepak selow selow driving ke Johor...then meet up with my family...rather than turun KL then raya kedua to JB. Budak2 ni semua except for Angah , dah besar2 belaka semua...Inas,my cousin Farahin and Noin...dah very teenage..it indicates what? ?? kita mudo lah ha..ha..ha..

Ni...2010

Most of the time kan kita tak rasa that time really flies and we actually grow from one year to another...slelau kita kata kita tak rasa pun ...but looking back at the old pictures, we could actually witness the differences...at times even air muka is a bit different ....
 2010...we wore Green....This is the kind of green that I like...I was carrying Aariz during this raya...my maxi dress was bought in Isetan--it was also worn by Maya Karin in Nona  right after raya....nak jugak sebut tu ha...ha..

For 2010--we actually went down to KL after sembahyang in Pekan..so all those people actually had to wait for us...Itu yg tak shiok because they got to wait for us before moving on to their destinations..like Boy to treangganu...Bell to kedah or Muar...Darling to Melaka...that is why I like to go down to JB senang...we dont have to rush and they dont ahve to wait...Actually all of them would come down to JB raya ke3 except for Boy so better lah jumpa raya ke 3...

 My sisters...see my perut...comel ke??? And Ann was carrying Afroza--she could still squeeze in a kurung moden...my mom punya baju kot

 But the good thing about raya in KL is meeting with my Baba ...or we would entirely miss him for hari raya...high commitment my dad ni he..he..And another thing is meeting my aunt...Aunty Sidah and Aunty Anom...they were my pengasuh when I was small thus they always stay special in my heart...Aunty Sidah ..she is 10 years older than me and people say taht we do look alike...kira kira cantik lah aku at her age nanti ha..ha..Tak gitu???

2009...

Tahun ni kita turun KL jugak..and brought along Tok Bibah to JB on 2nd Raya...First day of raya in the evening we went to Ann's place back then in Shah Alam

On our way down to JB...breakfast at KFC...ha..ha..ha...

My kebaya is from Bandung also....letih kan? ha..ha..

Darling and Azlin first raya as husband and wife...Romantic sangat lagi...these days...tak tahu lah...ha..ha..cik darling cer comment!!

I cant really recall but looking at the masks the boys were wearing, I believe 2009 was the H1N1 year.

Comel sangat aku tengok muka Mat Dib ni...he is so kurus tau sekarang because of puasa...He doesnt eat that much masa berbuka..sahur pun sikit jugak..I think kena buat Tomyam lah today...he would eat more kalau ada tomyam...but tomyam pulak masam...emmm

2008---panjang lagi cxite kita ni ha..ha..ha..selagi ada folder yg ada ada gambar raya...so enjoy reading ok..kalau bosan sambung nanti ha..ha..

 So 2008 was the final year I bought my baju raya at Gulatis /Euro Moda--growing up that is the only kedai kain yg aku tahu.....my mom approve kedai ni...:) .perhaps 2008 tahun akhir lah pergi ke Gulatis tu...pergi Gulatis mesti singgah makan nasi beriani kedai sebelah tu ...apa namanya...Fendi tahu lah...

I bet Duan tengok gambar ni mesti kempunan nak kurus ha..ha..

Ni jugak tahun akhir we made the laksa...sekarang order aje...tak de sapa nak membanting tulang buat from scratch...tapi sebenarnya fun buat sendiri tapi banyak kerja lah...kerja akak cap aje pun..

Also our final year following my mom beraya in Singapore....My mom ajak ni tahun ni...kita kata insyallah...nak melawat bakal adik ipar ...:)
Boleh singgah USS...kalau rajin...but Chumad ajak gi main bowling...entah macam mana tu sebab chumad is my mom driver for the raya...ha..ha..ha..controversy controversy....
That black and white baju kurung is one of my favourite...bought from a boutique in Shah Alam..it is cotton...

 I just love this picture that I want to share again here...tengok Mat Dib tu mcm tgh mengamuk...he called this morning terjerit jerit tak nak gi sekolah sebab terjatuh longkang...he said he cant walk..so I said tak pe Abah balik hantar adib gi sekolah...terus dia mandi and told bibik to sms me and inform he is going to school...very mischievous kan..

In the very same 2008 hari raya folder, I found this picture...ni kat Teratak Bro Fendi.. Buka puasa ke hari raya celeb ni?? Aku tak ingat lah...Tengok semua babies lagi...Misha at that angle macam Tasha aje pandangan and senyum dia kan? kelakar noh sesorang rupa nya...

LAst but not least 2007....adoiii so comot lah semua

 Theme was green + coklat...Adib kena sengat lebah malam raya...pagi bangun bengkak cam tu...and he didnt even complain...punya lah hero.
I was being genius lah tu ..pakai spec lagi..malas aku...ha..ha..ha..

I am so true to say tahun comot kan? I found this in Raya 2007 folder...tak ke comot sangat ni sorang sorang ha..ha..ha..Kalau rambut Misha tu tak tahu lah pesen apa ayah dia punya idea lah tu...Ita dgn tudung 2 dara pingitan nya...Cha cha was so adorable masa tu kan...and still is.. Ita baik lah kau tebus kecomotan ni tahun ni okays...ajak lah kita gi makan makan lasagne kat Bukit Jelutung tu...ishhhhh payah tau Ita ni!

Sushi for Iftar

OK...next...ghairah dgn food bulan puasa ni gini lah jadi nya..there was this Ustaz cakap, we should call Ramadan as Bulan Beribadah...then tak lah concentrate on puasa saja ..and bila puasa ingat food memanjang....semoga Allah memberi kita hidayah...ngeeeeeeeeeee.
Last weekend kebetulan pergi Carrefour, I bought ebiko roe. Thus, last Sunday we had Sushi for berbuka or iftar.

senang sgt lah buat sushi ni...tapi pejam mata tak leh jugak lah...kena buka..eh.



Since kita masak for iftar seawal minute pertama which is at around 12--minggu ni ok sikit...the week before balik pasar terus masak...malas lah nak tunggu petang...kang tengah sedap lepak kena masak pulak...lagi lah akak ni MINAT sangat kan bab masak ni...--since awal sgt i just buat kelonsong kosong with only the rice.

Anyway, I have to admit that I love spending time cooking with Duan in the kitchen. I think it is a good family activity...it creates bonding ...and loves floating in the air...

 Ni our favourite filling...egg mayo, tuna mayo , crab meat mayo and ebiko roe.

 Tu dah siap tinggal kan a few still kosong so that orang boleh letak sendiri what they like...

 It didnt stop there...ada jugak mee goreng mamak...Duan buat siap ada kacang ...tak ke impressive tu...kalau tunggu kita mmg tak de lah gitu gaya...buat mee goreng bodoh aje.

 Kita buat jugak soup daging--makan dgn mee or nasi...sedap sangat..ni  ...jadi kerja lah blogging on food bulan puasa ni...erghhhhhhhhhh

Dessert nya...honey dew sweet ...selalu dok makan kat Swan aje...kebetulan jumpa honey dew then kita try lah...bila buat sendiri tu mula tamak haloba mcm tak cukup cukup...Duan kata buat a quarter aje...ehhh tak de nak half of the melon jugak...penyudah nya...penuh honey dew...yummylicious ni

Sodih ke idak tengok muka Mat Dib tu...awal siang ceria bukan main kan...dah dekat buka...itu jadi nya..kurus dia bulan puasa ni...kepala aje besar...
