Salted egg prawns

I dont remember the last time i made a posting on our homemade cuisine. Think it was last 2 weeks, i told the gang that i'll be having salted egg prawns for dinner...then fendi told me to make a posting ...nak buat lah tu kunun!

So here we go....it was cooked byChef Duan...thus this is based on my observation...yang pasti betul :)...

• tumis bawang+curry leaves


• udang+butter+susu cair+lada kecik+telur asin only the yolk

and wallah.........cedap cangat...kena puji lah kang chef mogok...

Then this week, one of dinner was this homemade pizza...the base yg segera lah...topping ajer buat sendiri...aci tak?

To tell you the truth kan, i have been snacking and eating a lot these days ...entah lah kenapa, masalah dalaman agak nya....lari sekali, malam makan bagai nak rak...cam ne tu?

Interior design Part1

Nak came up with this end product of our shoe cabinet ni jenuh jugak...from the design, the finishing and of course the 3 quotations. The quotations is for the whole package--kitchen lah, wardrobe lah +other small2 items... not only the shoe cabinet. Not to mention, 2 other interior design shops that we went to tapi tak amik quotations. ~~~~~~Moral of the story is memang if you want to do renovations or home designing, you got to be patients and "man-man" and one thing for sure you have to shop around...especially when you are like us--biasa biasa sahaja...kalau jenis lavish lavish , then pergi menuju ajer lah .~~~~~~~ You'll be suprised with variances between the quotations...and please note that, the common assumption that "kilang" could quote the lowest price because we go direct, is not always true. ~~~~~The designer that we chose is actually the one we engaged for our built in cabinets and curtains last 10 years. He is quite well estabished, so we thought we looked for others first. His quotation turned up to be the most reasonable with the kind of finishing offered, and the fact that we have used him before, just make the choice seems perfect!

I was caught in surprise ...the design is from us of course, but it just turns out to be huge...and the mirror reflection makes the area looks more spacious ...Macam overly cool pulak....Nasib baik we stick with our mirror door, we nearly change to plywood because of the price.

House renovation part 7

Dia memang macam tu bila dah start update , mmg rasa nak come again for more...so bear with me folks! I just had my 20 minutes run on the treadmill...sweating like a pig ( pig sweats ke?) anyway..am feeling good about myself so hopefully it continues...god help me! The treadmill was so dusty,partly due to the renovation and partly because it was kept unused for as far as i can remember..lama tau.. rough calculation: 7mths of my pregnancy + 6mths after--- i didnt run during confinement, did I???emmm i dont think so, because i had caesarian mesti takut perut terbarai etc etc....beli dah mahal , simpan pulok...gosh anyway, i even had it cleaned rightafter tadi....

Ok..back to my renovation update..tadi back and upper flloor, now the front part...tiles on the frontyard.....the tiles was where it's all started...Duan proposed the whole renovation when I initiated the idea to have the frontyard fully tiled--when I threw him that idea, i was pretty determined..like " nak jugak~~ nak jugak"...so having him came up with the whole renovation proposal is like a bonus...the shining star must be right above me huh!!

Finally, gone is the green floor.....but you guys should know, when we first had the floor greened, a few neighbours stopped by and commented "sejuk rumah korang ni"..from far you could see the green reflection on the wall......my neighbours..., perhaps, they are being nice...but those words are definitely a doa.....so to them , thank you! I thought of using green tiles actually, was looking for jade-shiny-green , but cant find them so we ended up with this black 2X2.

House renovation part 6

Haloooo...where were we in my last update? Ok at the beginning of the behind area kan? Since then there has been so much progress on the construction, so let us have the pictures to tell the story. One thing... these people are doing their work without the safety gears-- i did warn them but they are small scale construction workers, safety = out of pocket cash --i hope they've taken calculated risk...god bless!

We have some real contractor friends visited the site and they commented that we

dont actually need to follow strictly the engineer's recommendation and by doing that we may save quite a bit on the cost , as an example the steel--they are a few measurements, so instead of using the proposed Y16 we can just use Y12.., apparently taht is common practice ...but for us , we are building our own house for god sake so .....we skip that advice!

Latest position of the renovation...for those who said , the house has became a bungalow-- that is something it will never be...the house will forever maintain as a terrace house...but , perhaps a "humble-grand" one wahahahaha main ajerrrrrr...

I would classify it as the outcome of our exclusive idea which fits our requirement (with 3 growing boys and a baby) moulded with love plus some budget constraints he..he..he...

Harap harap boleh siap before raya...aminnnnnnnnnn--akak kan orang melayu, melayu biasakan raya nak itu baru ~~ini baru ...so as proud as I am for being one, i want to raya with rumah baru...sort of baru lah jugakan....ok till next posting...take care!

Balik Kampung Part 2: menyalai daging

Ari tu masa balik kampung, my dad punya idea utk buat daging salai dah tercapai ...he came fully prepared, beli berkilo2 daging before balik kampung ...samapi ajer kat kapung, his first task ialah sediakan tempat menyalai ..hehehehe excited punya pasal ...aku tak sempat kuarkan kamera pun masa tu!

my dad kata senang buat kerja2 menyalai nie kat kampung coz rumah kitorang ada dapur nie ...dapur yang menggunakan kayu api ....dari zaman nenek aku dulu ...masa buat rumah versi baru nie, we all retain this dapaur kayu ....walaupun memasak semua guna dapur gas ....nenek aku dulu masa dia masih ada, selalu guna dapur ni utk bakar lemang, masak ketupat, bakar ikan etc etc ....

Took him 2 days utk menyalai nie ....asap pada mula nyer so menyakitkan mata aku ...then so menusuk2 asthma aku LOL ...sampai one point aku minta dia batalkan ajer niat nak buat daging salai tu ....takut asthma aku betul2 menjelma ....but, my dad changed tactic api dia and less smokes etc ....dalam pada dok menyalai daging tu, aku dok minta resipi daging salai masak lemak from fendu ...hehehehe keterujaan melampau biler dapat daging salai!

setelah beberapa kali plan nak masak dibatalkan, akhirnyer aku masak on 3rd June ....and the result was as  shown here ...ok tak? Sebab sedara mara aku kureng sket bab2 pedas, my dad request aku kurangkan cili padi and use more cili biasa ....personally aku rasa it was yummy but kalau lebih pedas lagi bagusssss ...pas nie aku ngan my dad plan nak masak beed dendeng belado ...if buat daging salai lagi ...hehehehe ...

Balik Kampung Part 1: mandi sungai

masa kat rumah panjang aritu, kami berkesempatan gi mandi sungai ...masa kitorang kecik2 dulu sungai tu lah tempat we all mandi ...sebab takde air paip ...now, since paip dah ada (walaupun graviti feed), people jarang gi mandi sungai ...cuma kids aje yang selalu gi sana ...or "tourist"/jakun city types like us ...

on the way ...dulu2 jalan ni kecik ajer ..and licin! now nampak cam tak terurus sebab org tak selalu lalu jalan nie ...Al siap terduduk jatuh ...sakit bottom kata nyer LOL

sungai pun dah sempit sebab rumput and pokok byk terbiar ...mak aku nak suggest kat Ketua Kampung kitorang utk bersihkan area nie everytime sebelum festival ...hehehehe ...sebab masa festival ramai org balik kampung, and akan mandi kat sini ....belah yang nie tempat aku mandi dulu2 coz area nie area yang cetek ....dasar nyer berpasir ...but it was so different than i remembered ...

this one one the other side of the jambatan ....area nie dalam sket...masa kecik2 aku tak mandi kat area nie sebab dalam...and we all tak reti berenang ...by the way, sungai nie masih lagi byk ikan ....my cousin yang berenang tu nak gi pasang jaring ikan kat ulu sungai nie ...we all tak reti berenang nak follow dia LOL

diorang test air dulu hahahaha ...terjerit2 Al sebab sejuk! tapi tak nak kuar dari air jugak ....

we were the last to leave hari tu ...hehehe puas pujuk Al balik walaupun dah menggigil LOL ...gambar aku mandi takde sebab aku tinggalkan kamera kat atas jambatan ...kat kamera Jane ada, tapi dia belum download lagi ....

best jugak mandi sungai ...tapi sejuk nyer sampai ke tulang sum sum ...heheehehe brought back my childhood memories ....dulu2 cousin2 my dad yang angkut kami adik beradik kalau nak mandi ...my parents mmg lepas tangan sebab mereka kata ramai volunteers yang nak babysit we all ...hehehehe those were the days ...

Penang, here I come ....

yeayyyyy yeayyyyy ...next monday aku gi Penang! Masa yang ditunggu2 dah tiba .....ujung minggu nie nak packing ....lama gak le aku kat sana ...gi Isnin nie, balik saturday nanti .....aku punya paper presentation is on thursday .....yang penting boleh jalan2 makan2 ......and jumpa kekawan .....one of our friend pun akan gi the same conference jugak ...have not see him since 2 tahun lepas kot ...so, it would be good to catch up ....

nasi kandar telur sotong ...yummy!!!

tapi kan, yang ditunggu2 is Penang Food (fendu jgn terliur!) ..hehehehehe nasi kandar, sudah semesti nyer kan! Am trying to go to Nasi Kandar Beratur or Line Clear this time .....and nak carik pesembur kat Gurney Drive .....and of course, nak makan laksa penang ......and cendol ......

 pasembur ...taken last year masa aku pi conference kat sana (yang masa Kak Long tak jadi pergi tuh!)

but the best plan so far is nak gi dinner kat kedai bapa Bemen ...kat Simon Seafood ..hehehehe ...seronok kalau plan pasal makan ...kan kan kan ....pas nie nak check blog @xim plak ....nak cari tempat makan2 yang best ...hehehehe

So guys, kiter WhatsApp ajer lah next week k ...coz I will be too busy joli2 makan2 ...and opps ber-conference :-)
