Another round of food at Fendu's

Well..I guess this is the end of Raya 2008. The picture is a bit disappointing as the kids reluctantly stood there, breakaway for 2 minutes from the television. We had murtabak, beriyani, kuey teow, mee colok, popia, tau fu fa and air sirap...yg sangat sangat manis. Ahh..I would like to thank Fendu for taking the effort to serve us with glass not "plastic cup"...kah..kah..kah..maklum akak pantang tau..
Food was great...sedap...and baru lah tahu Mak Tim tu serving Johor Cuisine..i.e beriyani gam..mak kite kata kite mesti bangga dgn kehadiran restoran restoran Johor di luar negeri Johor....kite mesti support sepenuh hati...kah..kah..kah....jgn mareeeeee....To Fendi and Fid and Misha....we had great time walaupun sekejap..saya akhiri dgn serangkap pantun:

Raya Makan-Makan

Atas desakan ramai (3ppl considered ramai ke?!?!) aku terpaksa akur bukan apa, takut kena gantung keahlian pulak nanti.. hahaha..


This was first raya makan2 seminggu after raya. Muka aku serious sbb tgh mengadu kat Medical Director.. hahaha..





This one was last friday with staff n Pakars, Makan2 Raya sponsored by Specialists.. meriah bangat sbb pecah record, 5yrs after pakai uniform, first time allowed to pakai baju raya..

Tapi.. food tak cukup pulaks. underestimate kononnye.. Tapi ikut aku.. caterer tu dah kelentong the pakars, they paid RM1200 for 120pax tapi mcm for 60 org je..





With Dr Z-am-ri, yg aku suruh fendu jumpa tu la.. dia ni org penang..udahle pekak sebelah, suka sangat cari gaduh dengan aku.. kalau cakap tu.. mak ooi!! bingit telinga.. tapi kalau dengan pt tu.. pijak semut pun tak mati..

Kota Kinabalu

My first trip to KK just ended. Rasa cam tak nak balik aje...it was a great trip. I spent most of my free time berenang and berendam kat pool - selalunya pool nie kosong esp during weekdays. But the attraction in Sabah is definitely its islands. This time tak dapat pi snokerling or visit those beautiful island but it is in the agenda for our next trip. Yea, I will be going to KK again soon - and plan nak gi snokerling at either Pulau Sapi or Pulau Mamutik....

And this trip jugak very fascinating coz aku banyak tengok benda2 yang tak pernah nampak sebelum nie. We went exploring at the fish market and the wet market - in the hope of catcing and videotaping orang yang sedang high hisap glue - which is the main reason for the KK trip - tapi yang ADO. But i did see all these really exotic looking fish. Nampak ikan buntal, ikan yang very colourful (tapi boleh dimakan), and some sort of tumbuhan laut ...all very pretty! tapi i tak berani makan hehehehe


So, kak long, Fend and eat, if you guys are looking for shopping, KK ada byk shopping complexes but barang dia semua sama je ngan yang kat Sarawak and Kl. But the main attraction here is the sand, beaches and its coral ....so kalau pi KK, kite harus snorkeling and mandi manda!

Leisure

Today, after we went to 1 open house we mati kutu did not know where to go. My brother suggested we lepak at park. Since My mom tak larat nak jalan byk sangat, we agreed.

Sampai kat sana, ej saw horses and sibuk nyanyi she wanted to ride the horse. Initially we buat tak layan pastu kesian lak...so redah je pi cari the ticket counter sampai salah jalan. I forced her to jump over a drain pastu lalu jalan lecak konon short cut. Both of us tak jatuh but kasut macam belacan lepas tu. Fid tak ikut sebab temankan my mom and younger brother lepak lepak tepi tasik. Kalau tak...teruklah dia nyanyi to my ears. Kah kah kah.

Next time kalau kita buntu tak tahu mana nak bawa anak-anak...bolehlah lepak kat park sambil horse riding. I snap jugak photo KL view tapi macam tak cukup tinggi the buildings in between KLCC and KL Tower kan kan kan. If not the view boleh lawan Sdyney Harbour view? What do you think?

Yang penting, Ej ingat pesan mak long...walau bau tahi kuda...gaya posing kena maintain. he he he. Nanti mak long kena ajar ej posing gaya kepala senget lak...ala ala Mariah Carey.

EJ's masterpiece

After nyanyi for few months to go to the arts centre, finally i took ej there. She spent 2 hours to paint and learnt to make the arts. Both of us pi window shopping and makan to kill time. She has 6 all together and still eager to make more. Problemnya takde tempat nak letak.

Open House at Lizdu's

My open house started at 10am and ends at about 11pm...We invited some friends at work, relatives and neighbours. We served satay, nasi dagang, spaghetti bolognese, nasi impit, kuah kacang, rendang and agar agar merah.Satay/kuah kacang and nasi dagang was ordered/bought from a caterer but others were all homemade. It was actually my first attempt to make rendang following my aunt recipe.

Comment from the floor, I think my first attempt was a success he..he..he..even the boys gave a good feedback, they always very frank with their opinion when criticising my cooking....remember, they like to say we are lucky to have "Chef Wan" in the house so..... I was pleased with their remark on the rendang....

Open House

Since most of my chinese friends have been asking about Raya Open House and special request for Rendang, we have decided to organise a small one yesterday. Unfortunately, some of them had to work and could not make it. So they missed the rendang which had turned to become "serunding". We also prepared speggetti, roti jala and chicken kari, fried rice, nasi impit and kuah kacang, jelly, otak-otak goreng and kueh bakar.

Ita came all the way from Sungkai and reached at 7pm. Sempat anak-anak mandi manda at my house and played "horse-riding" after dinner.

Pulau Sentosa 2008

Just want to share some pictures taken at Pulau Sentosa when we managed to memboloskan diri for about 2-3 hours...There's nothing much to tell about Sentosa, there are still many construction/work in progress going on there...so I guess if you plan to go there for a vacation in pulau sentosa...better wait for another year or two...Atas desakan hero hero malaya, i tried the sky ride and the luge..we went to the beach side jugak (picnic area)...well nothing to shout about as we have much better view in Malaysia...The boys happy sangat dah plan another trip for the luge and sky ride...sabor je lah....

Patah balik to petang raya in Pekan

I have to patah balik to the Raya eve in Pekan to show you guys these 2 pictures. This is how they make the noodles for Laksa Pahang traditionally..cool huh! We make the dough , then have it putar using this ...apa ha? noodle maker lah kan?, bring it to boil ,then having it wash with cold water then "chap" them so that it will be easily taken for each serving.

We have all sort of food for hari raya in Pekan...satay, ketupat, rendang , lemang, nasi dagang, ketupat yg tiga segi tu...and the laksa pahang..(we have guests as soon as the guys were back from the prayer-well it is normal for the relatives to serbu the house for the satay - so i totally forgotten about taking a picture of two utk tatapan abang fendu)...of all the many dishes, I only did the "chap" for the laksa...I am not that malas ok but there are 3 maids and of all the dishes, we only homemade the laksa pahang and ketupat ...others were all ordered....so...ok lah tu at least we still have the laksa being prepared traditionally...he..he..he...

Aidil Fitri 2008

Yoh..everybody!! missing me much kan???? i know ..you dont have to mention it..he..he...My streamyx is still 'kong' so I am using Grace's line and it is very very slow...but I cant resist the temptation of being a kak nam...addicted betul ...where should i start ...mengelabah akak kah..kah..kah...as if , kan?

I always very fond of hari raya mengalah budak kecik kan...anyway this was on first day of raya in Pekan.ok perhaps we were not that sedondon but the colours blend in ok so i got the approval from chop mohor besar kah..kah..kah..should have brought in my handbag in the picture, it is as yellow s my hair scarf..meletop!

All the 10 Duan's Indonesian workers were at my in laws to celebrate the day together with us...it's kind of pity looking at them...well we sort of have that kind of experience , observing hari raya overseas far from our family and relatives but I believe ours is different....the purpose of us being away and theirs ..so ...kesian jugak tengok mereka....About noon we were off to JB.

Ok this next picture is on second day of raya at one of relative's in Singapore...My raya is kind of routine, the only different is usually Singapore is on our 3rd day but this year it becomes second, then 3rd day we cover JB and Tiram...and but I skipped Sungai Mas (another must go relative-so we went there on our way back to Pekan on the 4th day) as I need to make some simple preparation for Adib's and Afi's birthday party which supposed to be around 8pm but we ended up blowing the candle at 10 to 11 pm...

Very tiring but we did have a great time...and ahh we managed to memboloskan diri on the 2nd day to Sentosa...tried to catch up the Voice of the Sea unfortunately again it was full house so we ended up riding the luge and the sky ride...(menyesal giler aku naik sky ride tu bapak lah tinggi nya)

I guess these are all my coverage for hari raya so next will be the family in purple.......gambar on 3rd and 4th day tak de....

Reunion di Sunway Part 3: who is Bruno Manser

Like Angah citer, two memorable thing spiced up the reunion. Eat, yang memang selamba giler tu, dengan selamba nya "meraba" orang masa nak tangkap gambor! Tak tau le apahal minah tu ...but the gambar jadi tak cun sebab banyak gelak! Kak Long, tolong nasihat sikit si eat...

and second event was really funny. Ntah cammana we were talking about my trip to kawasan ulu and kawasan Penan..maka, Wan pun tanya le ada tak jumpa Bruno Manser. I pun jawaple ...but, dalam dok bercerita tu, aku tak perasan pun yang Fend and Eat terpinga2 dengar kami sembang ...belum sempat habis cerita, tetiba dua2 tanya (serentak plak tu!) "siapa tu Bruno Manser?" ...sambil gelak bagai nak rak ....hampeh betul lah kekawan aku nie...Liz, ngko tau tak sapa mat Manser nie? It was really funny...you have to be there to tengok reaksi muka diorang! At least Fid tak gelak giler cam diorang ....

Lebaran - First jugak!

My plan was to spend Hari Raya with my family in Kl, and berhari raya ngan kawan2...tapi, my plan semua tunggang terbalik macam bot karam sebab terlebih muatan. My mum was admitted to hospital and malam raya tu, aku tido di HKL sebab teman kan dia. Kesian my mum, sorang2 kat hospital ...so, malam tu kami berdua aje kat bilik yang 4-bed tu...very uneventful. takde orang masak rendang, buat ketupat, tukar langsir ...tapi pagi raya tu adale nurse mai tukar cadar tilam my mum hehehehe ...

nie lah gambo aku di pagi raya, dah le tak sempat beli baju raya...yang shawl biru tu is actually my selimut! this is first (and hopefully last!) raya kat hospital ...my first photo di hari raya, and my first raya in KL ...

Lebaran - First

Seems that I'm the first one to do posting for Hari Raya Aidil Fitri 2008 here. Saje nak potong jalan Kak Long. Lagi pun she is so busy ronggeng raya in JB/Singapore. Eat pun balik Kampung, katanya...so tunggulah tahun depan for her Raya Posting. (don't know whether she understand or not the hidden message in this statement...Sabar je lah).

So far there are few "first" time for us for this Raya.

First time - Raya in puchong
First time - Sedondon and pakai sampin (purposely for this blog...arahan kak long pesan suruh ambik gambar raya)
First time - Balik KL on 2nd day raya. Normally will stay in kampung for 1 week

In 2 days raya, we went to 10 houses. Penatnya tapi Puas makan rendang. Perut pun jadi upset sebab terkejut.

Can't wait to beraya dgn korang pulak.
