2nd day - tuk tuk ride and shopping spree

Lepas berpanas masa kat Grand Palace tu, aku ngan Elena tahan taxi utk ke Central World (formerly known as World Trade Center, Bangkok) ...Before pi sana aku ada baca kat blog mana tah about this place - kata nyer byk outlets but the main tenants are Zen and Isetan ....

Bangkok memang notorious ngan its traffic congestion - mmg jam giler. dah le Grand Palace tu about 45 min - 1 hour from our hotel ...ngan jam lagi le lama ...tak sampai half way, taxi driver tu stop and let us out ...dia tak leh nak move dah kata nyer coz of the heavy traffic ....so, we took a tuk tuk plak ...yang nie ok sket sebab boleh mencelah2 ...bila jalan clear, bawak cam pelesit!

one thing about tuk tuk nie is that, masa traffic light merah, the driver switch off engine - save petrol kot ....then biler nak hijau, baru on kan balik ...hehehe i find it unusual! another thing kalau naik tuk tuk pegang le untuk keselamatan ....kat Bangkok nie, tak kira tuk tuk driver or taxi driver - selamba jer buat u-turn in the middle of a busy road - just to avoid pi jauh utk buat legal u-turn ....seriau siot!!!! (kalau kena saman, trafiic summon is about 200 baht i.e. RM20 jer) ...

But naik tuk tuk nie best jugak ...tengok banyak tempat ...senang nak ambik gambar ....and boleh mencelah ..so, can move faster than a taxi masa jam!

saw this guy jual mangoes ...murah jer ...yang masak ranum kot ....

and saw this lady jual something that looks like roti canai

and this guy also selling noodles ...ramai customers queue up kat sini ...must be sedap (betul tak Fend?)

but i geram sangat ngan myself sebab tak snap gambar this pakcik jual fried insects ...masa tuk tuk tu berhenti kat junction, ada lah pakcik nie lalu ..sorong dia punya cart ...aku tergamam sebab nampak kala jengking bergelimpangan kat atas cart tu ....bila dia dah lalu baru teringat aku tak snap gambar! kecewa aku ...coz after that aku tak jumpa dah org jual fried crickets or insects ...bukan nak beli pun, just nak gambar jer ...

anyway, sesampai nyer kami kat Central World ...we saw the burnt portion of the building ....ni adalah salah satu building yang dibakar masa riot in May lepas ....masih tinggal kesan ...

cari punya cari the entrance - rupanyer ada kat the other side from tempat kami turun tadi ....then we found out, cuma Isetan jer yang dah dibuka ...itu pun quite recently...the rest masih under extensive renovation ...

we all jalan2 sambil cari entrance ....view of the street was amazing ...macam jalan2 kat New York pun ada ...ngan all its modern design, with lots of high rise buildings ....amazing!!!

what's more amazing is that ditengah2 shopping districts like this ada shrine ...an alter tempat its devout people doing their worships ....like this one directly in front of the entrance to Central World ...where people offers red roses to their Goddess ...

I read somewhere that nowadays in Thailand, biler building bangunan baru, mereka akan buat satu shrine inside the compound ...untuk roh-roh yang being displaced from the building of bangunan baru itu ....these shrines pelbagai - ada yang small, dibuat daripada kayu etc ..and ada yang super duper mega ...semua nyer bergantung pada bangunan baru yang dibina ....lagi mega, lagi besar shrine yang dibina ...

pas look see look see ...terus masuk shopping mall ....keluar biler hari dah nak gelap :-) dan hasil nyer ialah ...

mine ...all mine :-)

and combine ngan Elena's ....mahu credit kad tak bengkok!

and kami balik hotel pun utk mandi2 and hantar barang2 nie ajer ...coz we went out again after taking this photo ...next destination: Suan Lum Night Market ....akan dicover di next posting plak!
